Beaverton
Michigan was established in 1903 and was originally
known as Three Forks because three forks of the
Tobacco River converge here. The river has
been transformed into one of the treasures here,
Ross Lake, a 250 acre reservoir lake. While
Beaverton Michigan was a lumbering center in the
past, today it is a leader in the plastics industry.
Located
in the center of Gladwin county, Beaverton Michigan
enjoys a wealth of natural beauty with lakes,
streams, rivers and woodlands surrounding the
community. While you can easily enjoy a
vacation trip here, Beaverton is just 85 miles from
Lansing, this is also a wonderful place to live.
Within easy walking distance of the charming
downtown shops is Ross Lake Park. The park
offers a boat launch, swimming beach, beach
volleyball court, picnic pavilions, playground and
restrooms.
Ross Lake
is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the cooling
breezes off the Lake. There are
professional water activities and one of
Mid-Michigan's largest fireworks displays during the
annual July 4th Celebration. A great place to
take advantage of is Calhoun Campground and in
August, Good Old Days brings back the rich history
of the area.
The
Beaverton Area Business Association sponsors the Kids Outdoor Day
which is held each year on the second Saturday in June, a
free fishing day throughout the state. For
