Barton City, Michigan

Barton City was one of many boom towns during the great lumber era in Michigan.  The land here in the center of Alcona County, Michigan is now dedicated to agriculture.

Barton City, Michigan is home to the "The Biggest 4th in the North", a July 4th celebration attracting more than 10,000 people.  Jewell Lake is one of Barton City's treasures, with its perfect little island nestled in the center. Good fishing, boating, and in the winter, snowmobiling.
