Old Victoria, Michigan

Old Victoria, near here in 1771 - 1772 an English Company under Alexander Henry attempted early copper mining in Michigan. So reads the sign at the entrance to this historic Michigan ghost town.  The local historical society, among others, has refurbished several of the buildings and cabins to near original condition.  The site is located outside Ontonagon and is open to visitors May - September.
