Lost Twin Lakes Pathway Michigan
The Lost Twin Lakes Pathway has features that few other local trails can match. This trail has remained relatively unknown due to its remote location off a gravel road and that for many years it was just plain too wet and soggy for casual hikers. The trail is in part of the Au Sable State Forest. The loop runs a bit over 3 miles and became an Eagle Scout project a few years ago. They went in and built a number of bridges and boardwalks over the wettest parts of the trail.
If you are looking for a pleasant walk in the woods, this is the pathway for you. There are century-old white pines that survived the lumbering days. Some of these pines are as much as five feet around. In addition, there are ridges, sinkholes, wetlands and swamps and those small lakes from which the pathway gets its name.
