Michigan up north is a full of spectacular waterfalls that are easy
to reach for a Michigan weekend getaways. We are working with
two excellent Michigan photographers to bring you a selection of
Michigan waterfalls and some beautiful drives to get there.
Ocqueoc Falls is located in Presque Isle
county Michigan and is the only named falls in the
Michigan Lower Peninsula.
This is a delightful stop any season and it is worth it
to take this trip during the color tour season.
M-33 and M-68 are the main roads in the area and if you
go east out of Onaway to Ocqueoc Rd. and then to Ocqueoc
Falls Hwy., you will soon be there.
There is ample parking and the falls are just a short
walk through a picnic area. You soon find yourself
surrounded by a hardwood forest that is silent in the
summer and spectacular in fall and winter.
There are actually three falls with plenty of places to
take pictures or dangle your feet in the water. It
is an easy walk well within the scope of most people to
enjoy.
