Michigan up north is a full of spectacular waterfalls that are easy
to reach for a Michigan weekend getaways. We are working with
two excellent Michigan photographers to bring you a selection of
Michigan waterfalls and some beautiful drives to get there.
When
you are on are on a trip through the Upper Peninsula, it
is always a treat to stop for a few moments and enjoy a
Michigan Water Fall. The thing is that many
Michigan waterfalls are in rough country and can be
difficult to get to. Not so with Scott Falls.
This is one of the easiest Michigan Water Falls to view
and is one of the easiest to miss altogether.
If you are visiting the up north Michigan Terrific Towns of Manistique,
Escanaba or Gladstone and decide to head for Ontonagon
or Calumet, head straight north toward Lake Superior and
get on M-28. Just East of Au Train is the H. J. Rathfoot State Park and right across the street is Scott
Falls.
This Michigan Water Fall is small but it is a delight in
all seasons. Besides being easy to get to, it will
form a gorgeous ice column in the winter. Behind
the fall is a small cave that becomes decorated with
icicles. Careful, the rock floor can be slippery
in any season.
