adam's fly
An original Adam's Fly is on display in downtown Kingsley inside the library.
In
1922 Judge Charlie Adams was fishing on the nearby Boardman river
when he noticed some kind of hatch taking place.
None of the flies in his tackle box looked anything like those that
were hatching so he asked his friend, Len Halladay, to tie a new
pattern for him.
Halladay did, using gray wool for the body and Rhode Island Red
Rooster feathers for the wings and thus was born what is arguably
the most widely used fly in the world.
